Mermaid 6 copy

Do you ever gaze across the ocean and ponder its vastness, mystery, and unexplored depths? It is the shared gaze of humanity. Our collective history is filled with references to sea creatures, sirens, and ancient gods of the oceans. As our technology has progressed, some of our fascination has shifted from the oceans towards the unknowns of space. Still, the ocean elicits strong feelings of wonder and longing…perhaps even fear.

Cream, Tales of Brave Ulysses

Mermaid 27 v2

What is it about the ocean that beckons us? Is it the call of the heroic journey that inspires our sense of adventure and fuels our fantasies…or nightmares? Famed psychologist Carl Jung suggested the ocean is symbolic of the mysterious unexplored depths of our mind and the vastness of our soul. There is so much to be explored…within ourselves and one another. All too often, others only see our surface or mask and we do the same to them. In truth, we may only see our own surface as well and fear going deep within ourselves to explore our own mysteries and the vastness of our soul.

Mermaid 20 v2

On my journey, I am filled with wonder and longing for Her AND I fear drowning in her body.

You see a girl’s brown body dancing through the turquoise,
her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea.
When your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body,
Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind.

Lyrics by Eric Clapton and Martin Sharp

  1. Love your digital art… I’m in my third year of learning digital design and it’s becoming another passion of mine. It’s always inspiring to see someone else’s work. My favorite artist is Philip Straub. Your artwork reminds me of some of the things he’s done.

    1. Thank you Michelle ☺️ These are older works but there is a warmth about them I still enjoy. I googled Philip Straub and I’m certainly not worthy of that comparison but do appreciate it. I admire his dreamy, mystical style and should probably do a bit more of that vs. my more adult-focused creations. It will help me grow as an artist. Hope you will share some of your works at some point.

      1. Oh well, old or new, they’re still wonderful! And isn’t Philip amazing!?! I think with what you’ve shared here on your blog, that you could definitely accomplish the same dreamy, mystical style that he has. Yours already feels very much that way to me.

I’ve shared some of my sketches on my other blog, but none of my digital art. Here’s the link if you want to see. You’ll have to scroll down a bit to find them all.

I have an old painting on there as well. It’s fun to look back and see where I started, and the progression since.

Oh and before I forget, I never got a notification of your reply to me. I was rereading this post of yours and noticed that you had. So just in case others aren’t getting your notifications, now you know that it’s happening. I hate it when that sort of thing happens!

        1. Thanks so much for the heads up on my replies and lack of notifications. I am on a self-hosted site and it just doesn’t seem to work as well for some things. My art was a little too erotic for WordPress.com so they shut me down 😕I’m going to check out your art right now 😃

  2. The ocean – I am certainly infatuated with her mysteries.

    1. She is a lot like you 😘

  3. These are beautiful. My favorite is the third one down, by itself, with the pink tail. I like the way her hair floats and her pose. I love the ocean- you are right that it’s fascinating and fear inducing. So beautiful but it can be deadly. Hmm… that makes me feel a bit fierce 😈

    1. Thanks so much for this comment ✨ It seems we both have a thing for pink ☺️You have me sitting thinking about the duality of the ocean – so much like our own psyche and sexual fantasies.

  4. I’m intrigued

    1. That’s great, curiosity is a good start ☺️

  5. Hey sexy I was offline for a while

  6. Reminds me of playing OutRun 2 for Dreamcast, those pictures. 😄

    moving prose too

    1. Haha! Thank you 🙂 I never played that one…but I appreciate that images even approach reminding you of a game.

  7. Oooh, gorgeous! I always loved that song. Always wanted to be a mermaid too. And live in Atlantis with a sexy merman! 😀 Mermaid 21 is my favorite, she looks enraptured. ❤

    1. Thank you, Grace! 🙂 That song is definitely a classic and seems to find itself on most of my playlists. Thanks for mentioning a specific piece…I forgot to give them more creative names, ha! #21 does have some ruins in the background…sort of a lost city feel. She is frolicking and tempting in that image. ❤

      1. I’m uh, going to go jump in the pool, now! 😋

        1. Please don’t mind the merman beside you…I’m just enjoying the frolicking! 🙂

          1. Mind? I’m loving it! 😉

  8. These are beautiful, Michael! You are so good at this digital art! I am drawn to the ocean too but also slightly terrified. 🙂 I like the concept of a woman drowning a man in her body. That sounds so sexy and profound.

    1. Thank you, Aurora 😀 I have a long way to go with form of express but I feel like I’m at least making some progress. Now, about drowning in a woman’s body…. I am ready for a nice, deep swim! :-*

      1. Your art is amazing! Especially the breasts. 😉 No, but really all of it. If someone were to take a swim in me, I’d want them to go deep. 😀

        1. That was simply delicious! Whew, you are sooo hot and sexy!!! That’s it…things are officially on fire over here🔥🔥🔥 I’m going have to grab my hose and heavily douse the area💦💦🔥💦🔥☺️

          1. Ooh! Don’t douse anything until I get there!! 💦🙆🏻🔥

          2. OMGosh…love that emoji pose with arms stretched high (imagining an arch), body open and waiting… Mmmm, that will be my vision slipping into Dreamland tonight! :-*

          3. I liked it too. I imagined her on her knees…😉😘

          4. Me too…sort of. Exception it wasn’t “her” I imagined ☺️🔥😘

          5. Oh, you bad, bad boy! 😀

  9. LifeinChastity

That sounds awesome man. keep up the good work.

  10. Tickled Fancee

    Michael,
Love the beautiful artwork, more displays of your talent for your gallery. I really love the underwater scenes and of course the lovely mermaids. There are many mermaids on WP who I’m sure would help you drown your troubles…
I can fully appreciate your fear of drowning. The waters represent our emotions, our creativity and our sexuality. The second chakra, the sacral chakra, is often considered the first feminine chakra. Interesting because women carry the energy of creativity and emotionality…
In my humble opinion, a mermaid who is true at heart would show you how to swim in the deep waters and learn to breathe in them. She doesn’t desire to allow you to drown.
While as a woman, my fear is of being harvested. While I want my garden to be owned, I don’t want my (underwater) plants to be stripped of their beauty and their casings cast aside. So for much of my life I hid my gifts from men who I’ve felt were treasure hunters…and I still do, less so though.
May you find the mermaid who shows you to truly swim in the deep waters. Anaïs Nin has a beautiful quote about being a mermaid that was quite lovely, that I found the other day looking for her “bud” quote. I’ll see if I can find it again.
    ~T.

    1. Thank you sweet (and very sexy) Tiffany :-* Glad you enjoyed the gallery…you had the first sneak peek, ha! Mmmm, I like the idea of a wet WP mermaid…. You always leave me pearls to consider and I do need to learn more about the chakras. I adore your sentiments about a mermaid not allowing me to drown and, instead, giving me new life. This is a very powerful visual and strikes an emotional chord. You have a special touch for doing this. :-* I don’t think it is unwise to protect your garden from the plunder of treasure hunters. I’m happy that your own journey has lead you to at least recognize some divers appreciate the splendor of beauty that flows beneath the surface in the vast unexplored depths of the mind and soul. <3:-*

  11. A very nice song it is indeed. The images are very lively beautifully incredible. I love it, you are quite creative detailed with talent. A excellent job you’ve done Sexy Michael, makes me think of a ocean warmed by the sun’s heated passion. Moisture like sweet silky velvet touch luring the body to go deeper into it’s strong thrashing thrusting waves. Penetrating desirable caresses making the body float in exstacy. Sexy stimulating exotic experience. Thinking of this makes me very excited. Breathing heavily licking my lips as my eyes close toes curl hips swirl and achieve as I am pulsating between my thighs. Fingers are touching that special spot, wet i feel my moisture coming down. Deep my fingers are so deep in me satisfyingly mind boggling sensation of sexual explicit bliss. My breast are touched by my hands I moan as i am so far gone into pleasures hands of lustful climax.

    1. LifeinChastity

      Now, that is awesome.

  12. Copper Cranes

Michael, this is a wonderful and creative post. Your digital art is terrific, my favorite is the black and white image. Love Cream, the song of course is perfect.

I think that the depths of the ocean and space are hard to fully comprehend due to their vast properties, and for most of us this understanding is unattainable. I don’t always agree with Jung, in this instance I do. There is much that we can’t explain or don’t know about the mind and the soul, which makes for very intriguing speculation and thought.

Wishing you well, please take care. ~ Mia

    1. Hi Mia 🙂 Always love when you stop by! :-* Appreciate the call out on the B&W image. I was playing around with versions and really liked the contrast. I was going to do it for several of them but had too many images already, ha! Loved the way you expressed your thoughts around what we don’t know about the mind and soul but continue to search for deeper understanding. I hope your Friday is amazing just like you! 🙂

      1. Copper Cranes

Hi Michael, thank you for such a nice reply. I adore black and white images, you could never post too many. 🙂 I hope you’re having an amazing Friday too, please enjoy the holiday weekend! 🙂

  13. So cool

    1. A change of pace…never really featured a gallery. Glad you enjoyed 😊

      1. Yes. You’re very talented

    2. LifeinChastity

you sure got it going on there bud!

  14. LifeinChastity

Although I’ve only had a chance to glance at your stuff, it’s pretty damn awesome man. Keep up the good work and I’ll be checking out more for sure.

  15. Stunning work my sexy friend. i can’t imagine there’s a better place to fear or get lost in other than a woman’s body…oh wait! maybe a man’s… 😉 how about some merman’s up next? 😀

    Kisses sexy! xxx

    1. Mmmm, let’s drown together!😃🔥🔥🔥 Mermans? Let me check the Magic 8-Ball. It says…”Not Likely,” ha!☺️

      1. oh come on!!!! why not??? 😀

  16. Sexual Dispondant

I have always had thought that mermaids were beautiful and mysterious. The way that you talk about them makes them that much more enticing. I think that they are so beautiful that I have a tattoo of one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    Sid

    1. Wow, you have gone “next level” with the Mermaid. I bet that is a cool tattoo! Glad you enjoyed the post. I’ll have another post or two featuring mermaids and hopefully be able to create some higher quality artwork for them as well 👍

  17. I really like your artwork, it’s so unique and proper spot on and the most thing I love about it is how you beautify every part of a woman within your work, you sort channel their sexuality, behaviour and their emotions and confidence and nonetheless sexiness within them. It’s really good!

I studied art that’s why I like reading past the image and read deeper into it and yours is really a masterpiece. And you are a good writer, I proper enjoyed reading this

    1. Thank you so much, Samantha! :-)<3 This comment is really, really special and greatly appreciated. I've never had any formal training but have vested a lot of time in working with photos and now trying to create my own images. I feel like I am making progress but know I still have a long way to go. Your feedback though is so very encouraging and I also appreciate the beauty, sexuality, confidence, and emotion you feel in those images…I certainly feel this way about women.

  18. Another thought provoking post! I love your post! Just before bed! Lol! I love the ocean, the way the waves crash on the beach, the blue mirroring the sky.
However the beauty of the ocean hides the dark depths 😱😱 ahh just thinking how bottomless the ocean is! It’s dark! One of my fears!

    1. Pretty girl, you sure know how to make a man feel great! ❤ This is a wonderful comment and the visual of you reading it in bed causes my thoughts drift…. Like the contrast you brought out too. The beautiful mirroring of the sky and the dark, scary depths. Not to mention the Sirens waiting to pull us men under, lol!

      1. You are so welcome!😉

  19. These are amazing Michael!I think every woman wishes to be as mermaid atleast in dream!😉these are just lovely .I am not good at digital art ,but i love to do that😊

    1. Thank you so much, Sasha☺️I was working with some new techniques at this time and, for the most part, pleased with how the results. Hope you have a wonderful day, and I’m sure the spirit of the mermaid surrounds you 💖

      1. Ha ha!yeah spirit of mermaid surrounds me now..have a great day to you too 😊

  20. Carly Quinn

The digital artistry is gorgeous, the colors, the patterns, and yes, the tits…. but I can’t help but think of Iliza Shlesinger and her dire warning to women who want to be mermaids….In all honesty, she scares me a hell of a lot more than you do. :0

    1. Haha! I had to google her and find her take on mermaids…hilarious!😝She is crazy!😄Not believing in mermaids might disappoint the sea-faring men of the world…😉

  21. Exotic Nita

Love how you protray.. that mermaid..
you are a very talented digital artist…
I more I read your blogs .. the more I’m in awe of you…

You are such a deep passionate man…
And the things that touch you and boggles your mind… is so epic

    1. Epic…wow, I am humbled by this comment☺️Digital art is a really fun hobby. I’ve made some good progress but I still have a long way to go 😊I liked this gallery though…I had made some breakthroughs that allowed me to compose more intricate and layered images. So appreciate you checking them out💞

      1. I truly enjoyed your work of digital art.. And I love to see that there’s so much more to you than what meets the eye and you are easy on the eyes though!!!
In my opinion. You are very talented and do have a very creative imagination…
so you are most welcome.. I’m a huge fan of anything artistic….

  22. Tara Caribou

Very beautiful artwork, Michael. Of course, you don’t have to read much of my own writings to know my feelings about the ocean. (Daemona the sea dragon turned mermaid and Oceana come to mind.) Couple that with the fact I go to my ocean every other day at minimum but usually every day. I love the song lyrics: perfect.

  23. Beautiful!!

  24. Ciao Micheal, buona giornata ❤

  25. Love your artwork. I’m currently going to school for digital design and so I can appreciate the amount of work that has gone into each and every one of these. Simply beautiful!

  26. thelonelyauthorblog

Stunning images. Thank you for sharing them

  27. Angelica Fetishes

As I read and view the Digital Art post, I could feel my fear and exhilaration of the ocean at the same time.

  28. Oh I am so fascinated with your art. I enlarged and lost myself in the mystery of it. Especially her lips. WOW Michael. You blow me away with your art and your writing. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

    1. This is such wonderful feedback, thank you. 🤗😘 This gallery is a bit of a mystery for me, artistically. It is dated in terms of how I see my progression but it still speaks to people. There is a warmth to it that I seem to have lost in more recent pieces as I strive for more photorealistic creations. Of course, mermaids always fire up the imagination 🌊✨

Hope you enjoyed and will share your thoughts...
