Thanks in advance for checking out this digital art gallery. Most of these works comes from a particularly special session almost 5 years ago and have been a recurring theme in my art since then. You may have seen a few of these in a story or two, but I have never pulled them together into a cohesive themed gallery or discussed the inspiration. Frankly, I wasn’t sure what it make of them or where the inspiration came from. I only knew that I felt it.
As a blogger, I’ve made some surprisingly wonderful virtual connections that I deeply cherish. As these works first took shape, I was dialed in on the energy flow I was feeling with a small group of female bloggers and how it seemed to mirror some of my live interactions in day-to-day life. I seem to be especially tuned into women that are in some way hurting or may appreciate some emotional support and positive energy. Similarly, there has been a certain type of woman that feels something when she visits my blog. Plenty of women move on and never return, but kindred souls stay and listen for while.
For those that stay, there must be a unifying theme or sensation they feel when deciding to stay or not. Interestingly, this has played out in my personal life too. I have always felt like I can walk into a room and feel two very different reactions. One is indifference. The other is magic. It is cool or burning hot. Women seem to feel me strongly, or not at all.
I have been aware of this for a long time and, in person, can sense it almost immediately. It is like I can literally see a light turn on inside them or feel the dark void. As a blogger, I can almost feel this energy radiating off someone if we happen to connect through comments.
Fast forward a few years, and I was spiraling down on a topic long forgotten but came across the concept of “lightworker”. Lightworkers are people who have experienced some form of mystical/spiritual awakening in their lives and feel the calling to unleash healing emotional energy. They radiate with an energy that others in need may be drawn to. Those drawn to this energy may themselves be lightworkers but have lost their way and forgotten the energy residing within them. While lost in darkness, they still recognize this energy in others and are drawn to the light. If a connection is made, they are once again illuminated.
Do I consider myself to be a lightworker? No. Perhaps it has been me that is lost in darkness and lightworkers are illuminating me? I’m not really interested in going down this road to explore further, but it is intriguing because I have always had a fascination with light and have often selected usernames that made references to light. I attribute my fascination with light and energy to the aspirational archetypal energy of Dionysus. To the ancient Greeks, Dionysus represented the dancing universe and ceaseless flow of energy that unites all of us with one another and the universe. This is the archetypal force that calls to me in my dreams. Then again, perhaps Dionysus was the original lightworker.
If this your first visit, welcome to The Dionysian Experience. Open the door…step inside and get turned on.
